Features

What OIOA does, feature by feature: family and people first, then calendars and timings for your community, then everyday tools.

OIOA has three kinds of features.

Family and people. These are the Family Tree with tithis and remembrance dates, shared contacts that reach every member’s phone book, Family and Groups with events that ring as alarms, reminders that repeat by your calendar, and cards for joy and for loss. They’re the same for every community. Shared features use an OIOA-ID and a local-first SYNC.

Calendars and timings. These change with the community you choose in Settings, because each tradition reckons time in its own way. Each month shows in your community’s own dates, calculated or stored on your phone so it works offline. The panchang, Choghadiya, Hora, Rahu Kaal and Shubh Yoga belong to the Hindu and Jain Home screens; prayer times and Qibla and the Zakat calculator to the Islamic Home screen; Navkarshi times to the Jain Home screen. The Parsi and Sikh/Punjabi Home screens have calendars of their own.

Everyday tools, such as holidays with a long-weekend planner and the GST calculator, are the same for everyone.

Browse every feature below, or see them at work in the use cases.
